The Proposal

09.27.2006: It was my 21st birthday on the 17th and Dominic surprised me with the best birthday gift ever. Front row tickets to a New York Yankees game. He had told me in the weeks prior that he was going to take me away and that he would tell me what to pack. So I got a list---Sewing machine, towel, clothes, Yankees Hat, & Sun Block. Once I got my birthday gift I knew where we were going. We got up early and left Vermont at 6 am. We were in NYC at 10:30. So we had the whole day ahead of us. We checked in to our hotel in the Bronx. I was exhausted so I napped before the game. Dominic wanted to walk and I wasn't about to walk in the Bronx--Hell NO! So I made him drive to the stadium. We got a bite to eat and sat in our seats! Amazing Seats! I had to go to the bathroom--He wouldn't let me out of his sight in the city so he walked me up. When we got back to our seats I started talking to the 6 year old boy next to me. I asked him why he loved the Yankees? He told me his dad did. Dominic had put his arm around me and asked me for a kiss.... Once that happened. He asked me if I liked his ring.... He showed me the diamond on his hand.... He asked me if I would marry him? I started to cry and said yes!!! We kissed and the Crowd went wild!!! The Yankees had just hit a home run and were winning! It was amazing! Dominic said they were cheering for us! My ring was beautiful it sparkled!!! Although he told me that I had a choice of rings. The one that he used or the one that he had specially made for me but wouldn't be in for another couple of weeks. He knew he wanted to ask me there so He got a spare from his friend to use. It's nice having a friend in the diamond business. So I Loved the one he had made for me. Its absolutely beautiful! As beautiful as the way he proposed! It was truly a home run!

Our Wedding Day

09.01.2007: It was a beautiful September day in Vermont. Not to cold and not to hot. It was breezy and the sun was shining. Our wedding was held at Memorial Hall. Which is located on Mirror Lake in North Calais. We wanted to keep our wedding small. Dominic would have preferred to elope. I wanted my day in the beautiful white dress. So I tried to keep things fun and laid back. The Ceremony was at 3pm. I was 15 minutes late. My mom and "step" dad drove me in the 1951 Ford classic and I guess it took longer than expected to get there. Once we arrived everyone was seated and people were waving. We pulled up around the building and they let me out. I put on my veil & then the tears started to roll. I was so nervous! My sister walked down the grass to our arch way---She looked amazing! Zymora walked down to Uncle Dom---She was so proud to be a flower girl. Then My mom and I went. I got to the top of the pathway and I saw him and my heart melted just like the first night I hung out with him. He was so handsome! We wrote our own vows---I had to go first. I cried through the whole thing. Then he read his---He blew mine out of the water---he is an amazing writer! You may kiss the bride!!! Yaya! Walking up to the hall----I kept saying, " Monkey, Can you believe we did it!" We ate dinner, danced our first dance, visited & packed the car. We went home and talked to PJ and Packed for Mexico! We couldn't have asked for a better day!

Words Can't Explain.

Words can't explain how grateful I am to have my two boys in my life.

Cap is truly the smartest man I have grown to know. He has decided to run an office in our local government. My husband is a "go getter", when he decides he is going to do something he goes headfirst and full speed ahead.

He ran for our districts city council seat. I helped him go door to door getting his name out to our neighbors.

HE WON!!

not to shabby for the family that only lived in town for less than six months.

WOOT! Congratulations Cap!

Super Hereos AREN'T Supposed to get sick!

Super Heroes aren't supposed to get sick. And especially mine! We came into the ED at 2030. He was having chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, and experincing some neusea. Initially he thought it would pass. When things kept getting worse we put Wally in his den and headed to the hospital. I attempted to keep my shit together but seeing in distress was and is awful!

The emergency room was packed when we arrived. There were 4 people ahead of but his symptoms took importance over the people ahead of us. Once in Medical room 2 he was immediately hooked up to a cardiology monitor and they began an EKG. But not before they got out the shaver to remove some of my superheros pelt! He had labs drawn to do a complete overview of his chemistry. The xray team came and took him for a couple images of his chest.

Dr.T has been fabulous! He is making sure to keep me informed on the information they have collected thus far. Xrays came back normal. EKG was fine but they will repeat one we have lab results.

Cap is still being monitored and trying to rest while I blog via my blackberry. Anything to keep me awake and "together" emotionally at this point. The waiting game is terrible! Unsure of whether or not they will keep him overnight. Anything for answers. Anything for my superhero to be well.

<3

THE LOVE OF THESE BOYS IS ALL I NEED!

ACCEPTANCE AND RANDOMNESS

We the E's made an offer on the charming house at the end of the dead end street. It was only a few hours before we got the call that the seller ACCEPTED our offer. We went into the office to fill out the final offer paperwork. The inspection is in order for tomorrow at 9am. I can't help but be completely beside myself and second guessing our decision. I'm scared to death--this is the first HUGE purchase that we have ever made as a married couple other than our Hummer. At the same time I'm overjoyed by the experience. I <3 onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEis-Oxx9gErM-gDSJMdtAGJA85xAsBJ8J78_NshaNx-xN1ypi4Q96DYGA-nciziWwwgXdlW2KMhZeLawABuMqcl5boJ5-b08gmkGDxnl9wqhB02CfzncmNpWxOOGtTXXoHT5yoczSJAyy4/s1600-h/pictures1+009.jpg">
Doc and I have a love for grenades. I saw this soap and had to get it for him! And of course in Army Green!

Who doesn't love a Popsicle on a hot day? I saw these at Capital Kitchen and had to get them for my popsicle loving husband.

SALE: $50K off

I frequent real estate sites just browsing. I love looking to see what is for sale and how outrageous some of the prices are on some of the homes and realizing how much money you would have to put into the home in most cases to bring it up to date and code.

I saw this particular home last September but it was well over the amount that we wanted to spend and then on top updating the home. While updating my page I watched the house drop $50K. I couldn't believe it! I immediately picked up the phone and called the Realtor to find out if it was a mistake. It was not! The seller dropped the price to get it off his hands before the next winter comes. It was his parents home and he doesn't want the extra lawn to mow this summer.

This house stole my heart.

I love that huge front yard. It's the last house on a dead end street which js a HUGE bonus. Oh those construction markers are for a drain that the city is currently working on. This will be Doc's second home. It is all ready for a wood stove:0)The side yard fit for a brick patio and a chaise chair. There is a brook down into the woods a bit and it's all you can hear. It is BEYOND peaceful in this yard. This is my favorite room in the house. A formal Foyer! I love that front door and gorgeous hardwood floor. Oh and I love the stairway. If it was my home I would change the lighting fixture.
This is the living room. Again I love the hardwood floors. There is lighting over the windows. Its a nice added lighting source in this room. This is the kitchen. If we were to purchase this home we would gut the kitchen and start over! Oh and remove that fucking ugly chair! I do love that this room has the original linoleum floors and the 1950's white metal cabinets that are in perfect condition. This room would be a FUN project! Of all the rooms in the house its the bedrooms that I dislike. It must be the faux painting and floral border. GAG! But I do love those hardwood floors and that would be all I love in this room.

All in ALL I love <3 this house.

I know God has been so good at providing for us. Continuing to put a roof over our heads. The odd thing was I prayed for this particular house that morning. Oddly enough I watched it with my own eyes. We'll be making a decision on this home in the next week or so.

Bedrest sucks!

That's right bedrest is the pitts!

On May 8, 2009 I was scheduled to have a pilonidal cyst removed out of my butt crack. I know, your thinking gross. But for me I'm thinking just how fucking painful it is . I was at the point where I didn't want to go the movies because half way through I would be so uncomfortable that I was half tempted to get up and leave. Instead I spent the second half moving every few minutes to try and regain comfort to no avail. Car rides over two hours required multiple stops so I could get up and walk and take the pressure of my tailbone.

May 8 came and I went in for surgery. The nurse blew my first IV not making me overly happy. I'm not a fan of IV's the thought of a fish line in my hand kind of bothers me. My surgeon, Dr. Z came in to see me in the pacu before I was wheeled into the operating room. I don't remember anything until I woke up in the recovery area of the pacu. Dr. Z was in the recovery room when I woke up from the sedation. He told me that I didn't have just one cyst but instead two were removed. He also told that what we discussed about the small incision on the inside of my butt cheek wasn't what he acutally had to do to remove them. I ended up with three incisions and one being 4 inches in length.

I'll sum it up. The recovery is HELL! Painful? Most definately Yes! I orginally had the weekend + monday after my surgery off from work. I went back to work for a half day on Tuesday and drove home in tears because I was in so much pain. Wednesday was the same thing only this time I thought I could vomit because the vicoden and ibprophen they had me on wasn't touching the pain. I ended up back at Dr.Z's office in tears. He immediately wrote me a note to be on a limited bed rest until May 21. I was ordered to the couch and bed staying off my butt/back as much as possible and being semi comfortable. The only way for me to be comfortable was to have constant hot/cold packs on my incision area. Dr. Z was wonderful he called me on Friday to see how I was doing.

Wednesday May 21 comes and I go to have my stitches out. Dr. Z looks and I'm ribbed a stitch out of the top incision so it looks like it has not healed correctly. Once he looked closer my body has been rejecting the stitches and started to grow away from them and then in one area right up and over them. Getting my stitches out was a BITCH! I've never been in so much pain. I left with a huge hole in my butt crack that we are to keep an eye on to make sure there is no infection. I left the hospital with tears running down my face because it hurt so bad.

May 22: Back to work. I still can't sit comfortably so instead I stood at my desk all day. Left an hour early.

Which brings us to Today. Back to see Dr.Z because Doc changed my dressing this morning only to have brown/dark yellow drainage a sure sign of infection coming from my open wound. My Boss sent me home. Dr. Z told me to remain home from work laying low. Dr.Z is concerned that he will need to split my incision and wick it to drain the infection. I'm not looking forward to anything like this taking place. I just want to be healed and back to work.

I'm SICK of being sick!

I was robbed.

Not only was today Mother's day but today was my due date for Baby E.

I'm bitter. Real bitter. The kind of bitter that gives you a sour taste in your mouth.

I know that God has a plan for D and I but I feel robbed. The loss of our child consumed me this afternoon. I wanted to scream but that wasn't an option D was doing homework. Instead I slept the afternoon away with the help of my pain medicine from Friday's surgery. It worked as a good coping mechanism.

Now that I'm awake---I again feel like someone stole something from me that I may never be able to experience.

It's the saddest feeling to have on this day of all days.

Tonight I'll go to bed knowing that I am a mother. a sad mother.

Oh, wait. I have Wallace that acts like a four year old. He takes on the best role of our child. He is our child! A fantastic boy at that. He wakes me up at 2am to go out. With him here it makes the feeling a little better. I can't help but think it's just not the same.

The E Home Tour: Living Room/Kitchen

href="http://www.kellyskornerblog.com">

I love Kelly over at Kelly's Korner! I started reading about her when she had just had Harper and was in need of some prayers. I can't stop following her. Perhaps it's her southern hospitality or the adorable little southern bell of hers that keeps me going back.

Kelly started this Home Tours addition last week. I wanted to participate but was working crazy hours and my condo was in shape to be seen by the world! Today I'm doing a double post of my living room and kitchen.

Things you should know about our home. My husband and I currently lease our 955 square feet condo with the option to purchase by November... We're going Monday to get our mortgage. Please pray that everything will work out for us.

Welcome To The ECondo!
I cleaned for you :0) Here is our living room disaster before.
This here is where you enter into our condo. I love the wooden sign with our established date on it that my husband got me. The bookcase holds our cookbooks, Wallace's boots and extra leash and the daily droppings from one's pockets. This is the main section of our "open layout". I love our red futon cover. I made the brown and cream pillow covers. Normally there isn't bedroom pillows on the couch but today I had surgery so the couch is setup for my resting area. The big tan box is our electric/ceramic tile enery storage box. I would love to build a cover for it because it is pretty fugly but heating our condo is WAY cheap! When I say WAY I'm talking $500 for the winter and that's in Vermont folks. We plan to purchase all new furniture for our entire house but I don't want to just yet. Not sure if I want to go with an Ikea home or not...but I'm seriously leaning that way.

Are you wondering why the tree is bagged? We rescued them from my husband place of work. They were going to just throw them out. They are $110 ficus trees. It's bagged for a bug treatment. There is a bookcase to the right.... I didn't take a picture because my Inlaws are on there. It sometimes freaks people out :)Pretty standard... TV/Entry area. Some of my favorite things in our living room
I love the picture of my husband and I. I love these rice paper lantern floor lamps. I found these at Big Lots and bought four of them. They give off so much light. The iSqueez perfect after a days work.

Our Kitchen

The fugly Tiffany lamp will be replaced once we purxhase. Also we will be replacing all the appliances, flooring, counter tops and door knobs in the kitchen. The cabinets are in GREAT condition so I can't see getting rid of them.
I love bright colors and I want a really bright kitchen. I'm considering painting it a shade of orange. The backsplash I plan to do in chalkboard paint.
I love the microwave... its old school and needs to be replaced but it's one of the only appliances that I use. You should note... I DON'T COOK. I made the black "chalkboard" message board to cover up our electrical panel. I'm not completely sold on the idea but it works for the mean time. The door was glossy fire engine red talk about a train wreck! I had to tone it down. I love bright but not tacky bright :0) Behind closed doors: A MESS! I mean dog food, recyclables, cleaning items and extra cooking items. My favorite item resides in here... the red Eco-Friendly grocery basket that I take with me every weekend when we do our shopping at the farmer's market. One of my favorite places: Wallace's Food area. I saw the sign and thought it was so fitting for when he comes running to his food bowl knocking anything and anyone down to get to it.
You now know that I don't cook but I am in favor of fairly neat cabinets. I will go behind my husband and re-orgainize as his pulling stuff out. Am I just a little OCD?Pictures+Cool Magnets+Inspiring Quotes=E refrigerator. Any time we travel to a different state we purchase a new magnet to go on the fridge.

Last but certainly not least...The precious Keurig machine. I love coffee, tea and running it with just hot water for a quick cup of miso soup.

Thank you for visiting the home of the E.

On another note: My prayer list.
* I had surgery this morning for a cyst to be removed from my butt. I'm praying for no infections and a healthy recovery.
*Everything to go smoothly on Monday when we go for our mortgage.
* Marlene's (school secretary) family: She was killed in a terrible accident last friday and her services were today.
*The Williams family is working hard each day to care for their son Jonah. I hope that their faith remains high.

4 LETTER WORD

WORK.

This four letter word has taken over my life. TAKEN. Okay, perhaps willingly. Taken just the same. Since last Monday I have worked seven straight days. 73 1/2 hours. 40 hours for my credit union job. The other 33 1/2 hours for the hospital in/out registration patient area.

The willingness of giving my time to both of these places is so nice. Not many people can actually say they love their job(s). I CAN. I honestly love them. I love the people that I work with minus 1 one. That particular co-irker could be devoted to an entire entry. There is something about the both jobs that keeps me getting up and going to these places each day. The CU I love the members--they are absolutely fantastic. The patients at the hospital are wonderful. My heart aches for most of the people I see but helping them is what makes me happy.

SLEEP.

Or the lack of is the most frustrating of all. I get home and it seems like it is time to get up and go again. I fell asleep on the couch this afternoon while eating my lunch. Doc told me that I was so tired that I was snoring. The sad part I had to get up to shower to go back into work. ha!

MISS.

There are some things that I miss terribly when I work all kinds of hours. I miss spending time with Doc and Wallace is limited but greatly adored. I miss dinner time. I miss sleeping in and cuddling my boys. I miss bath time at night. And I miss doing what I want.

WHY?

Why am I working all the CRAZY hours? Well, we are saving up for the downpayment on our condo, paying off my car and considering purchasing new furniture. It all takes money. Plus, I took the job at the hospital for the experience and placement on my resume. My husband is a nurse at an administrative level. We could move any where for him to get a "better" job. Which is great for him--he deserves it. I on the other hand need the experience of the hospital life so I too can get a J-O-B.

Oh well---It's one of those things that is not going going to go away for a very long time. I will need to WORK to survive. And these days it is all about survival.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!

There is so much going through my head right now about the nonreligious meaning of Easter. The more I think about the more annoyed I get about it.

Could it be that I'm bitter?

I can't help but think of the reference of "bunnies" and "eggs". Let's face it I've been working 70 hours a week and the last thing that is happening as of now is Doc and I screwing like bunnies. Or that face that I have a cyst on my right ovary and currently I'm not ovulating. I'm back on my nuvaring for a couple of reasons. The hope to get rid of the cyst that is currently residing on the premises of my open hotel. And there is that underlying factor that Doc is currently going to grad school. Oh and the fact that we still have not purchased our condo or purchased our Ikea home.

I'm not bitter, I'm just annoyed.

Doc and I didn't do anything for Easter. He bought me new Dansko clogs and I got him a new pair of Dr. Martens. Poor Walls just got his bed washed. We didn't attend Easter dinner with family, we didn't cook a fancy meal and we didn't go to a church service.

The only thing I can say is I enjoyed my weekend with my husband and our handsome baby boy Walls!

Wordless Wednesday

My weekend on the island.

Shampoo Heaven.

I went last week Tuesday and got my beyond desperate hair highlighted, cut and of course styled. Do you think I remembered to take a picture after departing the salon. Nope.

Well life has been more than busy here.

While at the salon I had the best shampooing experience ever. She used Pureology Nanoworks on my hair and lets just say its worth all $150 of it. I ran home to tell Doc about how wonderful it made my hair shine, bounce and well gave it life again. Okay maybe it was that my hair hasn't been touched by a professional since last August. But I begged Doc to find me the shampoo. Yesterday he ordered me the shampoo and conditioner. Bless him! ha! $150 in shampoo for $46.01 on ebay. I love how he loves finding a bargain. That is a savings of $103.99 AMAZING! I can't wait to get it in the mail sometime next week.

Of course I'll post before and after pictures and show you the difference. My plan is to catch up on my blog. It's been far to long!

IT'S BEEN A LONG FEW WEEKS!

I will be updating fully tomorrow! I'm running on 8 hours of sleep for the last 72 hours. Headed to bed after a very long day on the road!

Saturday.Sunday.Monday.

SATURDAY: I got screwed and ended up having to go into work at the hospital for 6 hours. Yup, I possibly have mono but they made me work. How much sense does that make? The only good think was Doc was working as the Hospital Supervisor so he was my "boss" all day. Ha! When he came on rounds he brought me a ginger ale. It was much needed for my very upset stomach. I got home around 2 and went to sleep until until about 5:30. Once awake again I was ready to get out of the house---I've been stuck in since the saturday before other than going to my two doctors visits and the 51/2 hours that I tried to put into work on Thursday. What a waste! It was awful.

This is how I've been living for the last 10 days. Ginger ale (Dr.P said to drink LOTS of clear fluids), 2 antibiotics for my mono like symptoms, Anti-inflammatory medicine, eye drops for my viral pink eye, Cough drops for my severe sour throat and of course Junior mints because I love mint (it settles my tummy) Ha! Mint---I really needed my chocolate fix.

Doc was so good to me. He took me out in public. We went for a "quick" dinner. I was honestly thinking McDonald's or Burger King. He suggested Pizza Hut and I had a coupon so I agreed. It took a little longer than forever to get our food. My first bite into my pizza was a bite of dough. yuck. I'm glad I only paid $12.99 for the large specialty topping pizza. Thank heavens for that coupon--My waitress was saved from me complaining. After dinner we went to Wal-Mart to pick up a scale for the bathroom. I was gained 8lbs of fluid in 4 days. Which was VERY ALARMING to me. I insisted that we get a scale so I can keep track of any gains or losses of water weight since I'm still not feeling the greatest.

Of course I found this great deal while there that I couldn't pass up. A red full size futon cover for just $21. I couldn't find one for under $75 on ebay. Not the greatest quality but just fine for Dog hair, dirty paws and other random futon mishaps. For your entertainment.... I'm sporting my blue scrubs. Can you see the darker blue area? That would be water that soaked my leg. Wallace took a shower with his daddy tonight and I got the pleasure of drying him off. So much for a towel! Well worth putting on a different pair of Pants because he smells great!

SUNDAY: Doc worked at the Hospital from 7-3pm as Supervisor. When he came home he had a gift in hand. I love surprises! Inside was the following:
1. A beautiful Moss Agate and sterling silver bracelet.
2. A glass Bunny.

I can't wait to wear it tomorrow!

A bunny. First you should know that Doc calls me Monkey. So he told me that he took all the little critters out of the basket and searched for a monkey. The closest thing to it was the bunny. So he started calling me Bunky instead. ha!

MONDAY: I got home from work to a huge pile of bills. Never a great thing! I really hate paying bills especially my own. I'm great when it comes to do it for someone at my job. I guess that's because I get paid to do it. But I put mine off until the very last minute which DOES NOT always work to my adventage! Needless to say Doc and I started our evening with a fight over a stupid cell phone bill. He thought I paid it. I thought he took and paid it. Needless to say--it didn't get paid until tonight. We have a few things together and then it seems like everything else is his and hers with our money.

But I also got 2 packages. I got my new Burton snowboard bag. I will post a picture at some point. I'm in love. I also got this beautiful ring which is an Etsy.com purchase. It's a Circle of Life ring. I got it in sterling silver. It is great quality for the money. Rapunzelsgold is has great service. I purchased it last Thursday and I got it today. Now that is what I call awesome! I fell in love with this ring for a few reasons.

One I love the whole theme of it: Circle of Life.... it reference birth, death and being reborn. Rapunzels collection represents enduring strength; honoring the diversity and continuity of each individual journey. I purchased this as a rememberence of Doc's father Zoltan and the short life our Baby E.

Let's Pray....

Please pray for this amazing family. Pray that Jonah will continue to resist infection and that he will begin to heal. Pray that his throat is not damaged in any way and that he is just having a rough couple of days learning how to suck on his bottle. And Pray that Patrice and Matt have better days and nights coming and that they will begin to hear words of healing and comfort for their sweet baby Jonah.

Today's Doctors Visit.

Well I'm not feeling any better from going on Tuesday followed by the ER Tuesday night (info of Tuesday in Blog)....In fact, I'm feeling worse! I woke up this morning with a fever, my left eye swollen shut and my right side of neck is visibly larger than the left.

So at the doctors office they ran more blood tests for liver function, white blood cell count and a monospot. All of which were negative. After seeing white spots on my tonsils they did a strep test---negative. She sent blood to do a mono culture--- I have to wait 48 hours for the results. Luckily, I work at the hospital and call for my own results. Yay! My liver and spleen were both enlarged. Clearly I'm not feeling better--I look like I was hit by Mack truck. I have drank 4 2lt bottles of ginger ale since Tuesday and I'm only peeing about 3x/day. And I don't have a Urinary Track Infection. Oh and the kicker since Tuesday I've put on 8lbs. Yup 8lbs of fluid.

She sent me home with eye drops today. I spend most of my time sleeping. I just woke up from a 5 hour nap. She said that if I don't feel better by Tuesday to go back to see her. I really hope that I can kick whatever is kicking my ass real soon. Being home sick is tiring!

Yay. It's here!

I finally got my new snowboarding jacket in the mail today. Even though I won't be able to wear it to the mountain for at least a week. I can still look at it in aw. I know its just a Burton Snowboard Jacket but you don't understand. All the years that I used to ski and snowboard all of my stuff was either my regular winter stuff or handy me downs from my older sister. It feels great to have something of my own. It has the IPod pocket which great because my helmet has the speaker capability. How cool is that listening to music which going down the mountain :0)

Skiing on Valentines Day.

I'll start with WHAT AN AWESOME WEEKEND!!! We had our friends Casey and Anton come to stay with us for the Valentine's Day/President's Day weekend. I worked until 8pm on Friday night then I went and did a little Valentine shopping for Doc. I felt like I should get him a thing or two for being such a great husband. I ended up picking him up a gift card to Game Stop and a cute card.

Casey and Anton didn't get to our house until 4am. Luckily we went to bed around 11pm and just woke up when they called to let us know that they were getting off the highway. We all went to bed and got up about 7 am to get ready for our day of skiing at Smugglers Notch. We all rode in Anton's wrangler. I couldn't figure out why my feet were freezing but once we got to the mountain I realized that he didn't put his "plugs" in the floor so there was cold air coming up from the floor. WOW, cold! Once at the mountain we had to wait in line forever to get our lift tickets and for me to rent snowboard equipment. Once all fitted and ready to go we got in the lift line. I thought we would get off at the half way point on Morse Mountain. I was wrong! First time snowboarding in six years ---I want to the top! Holy Crap--I fell getting off the lift. I didn't do half bad. There were a few tumbles here and there. Then I got feeling pretty comfortable being back on the mountain and I took one hell of a fall. I was slowing down when a lady came up beside me--her ski hit the edge of my board and I biffed it through the air and landed six feet away from where she hit me.... HEAD FIRST! Falling knocked the wind out of me and also left me with a puffed up lip and a swollen cheek that didn't look overly pretty. But I got back up and continued through the day just stopping for lunch which was awesome. During lunch I had a Peppermint Patty Hot chocolate to boost my confidence. Peppermint schnapps + hot chocolate + a helmet=GREAT SNOWBOARING! We went up Madonna Mountain with Casey and Anton once I felt comfortable enough to leave the "bunny hill" mountain. It was awesome. The view was one of a kind. Look how gorgeous it was!

It was so nice to be able to do something with Doc that we both enjoy. This was our first weekend on the mountain together. I thought it was really cute when he told me that it was a complete turn on to see me outside being totally active and confident. I guess getting married turned me into an old lady. Here are a few pictures of our day at Smuggs.

We went to the Vermont Pub and Brewery for a Valentines dinner. It was a great meal and we got a chance to just relax and laugh. It was so nice because this was the first time we were able to do this type of thing with a couple that we really enjoy in a really long time! It was perfect!

Because I enjoyed myself so much. I went and bought myself a snowboard, boots, helmet, a new Snowboard Jacket and a snowboard bag. I have my own gear. We even plan on buying season passes to Sugarbush or Jay Peak for the 2009-2010 season! We had plans to go skiing this last Sunday but I got sick so we couldn't go. But, I can't wait to do it again!
