Happy Belated Forth Of July!

I hope all you all had a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend! I spent the weekend working both at the hospital and a home. There was simply no rest to be had. I have SO many projects that I want to get done this summer. And as we all know summer in Vermont is FAR too short!

So I started the weekend with tending to my tomato and watermelon plants. The weather was beautiful and these little guys needed some nurturing!
My friend Buffy and I got together on Saturday morning to do a little antiquing around town. I found some really great things to "rehab" at the ReStore. It's this great little store where you can get stuff super cheap to redo. There is everything from paper towel rolls to toilets to furniture and every time you go there is something different. If you see something you like you HAVE to purchase it that day because I can tell you it won't be there the following time you visit. I'll share my purchases with you soon. Promise!

Sunday: I weeded the gardens. I did laundry and most of all I cleaned our house!! I also began painting the porch floor. What a CHORE! But we did slip out to see a few fireworks. I snuck out Cap's pajama pants to wear to bed. They are Gap and fabulous. I love their super soft cotton! I made Cap strawberry shortcake and he made me a Frozen Lemonade with a splash of vodka and a few fresh strawberries! Yummo!please excuse the mess! My recycling bin currently in need of a good washing... So I left it in the garage to get scrubbed. The porch floor is finished. And it was time to put together the new patio set I picked up for $48. The instructions were less than great! I was a hot mess when I was all finished!

Isn't my little supervisor the cutest thing you've ever seen! He kept getting in the way.
It's getting closer to finished! And I'm over the MOON in LOVE with my little porch! This was so worth the productive unrelaxing weekend I originally had in mind!
