Time to Catch up

So it has been 10 days since the last time I blogged. It seems like forever! Where do I begin?

Whats new in my life:
  1. -Doc working a few nights a week as a police officer
  2. -Low carb diet
  3. -Vacation is coming really soon

Number 1. Doc loved working as a full time police officer but as everyone knows the nursing job pays a whole lot better! So he has the best of both worlds. He has two jobs that he loves! Its been a bit of a change for me. I've gotten so used to him not working night shifts. Although I love when he gets home and he's all proud of him self. I love seeing him back in uniform doing something that he totally enjoys!

Number 2. Doc has been doing the low carb diet since the beginning of July. He has done EXTREMELY well! He has lost a total of 25#'s. Which is fabulous! He looks awesome and feels awesome too! I've been doing it for almost two weeks and I'm see results as well. 10#'s this far. Not as great as him but so far I love the fact that some of my favorite jeans fit again (I haven't worn them since last fall). Which is GREAT motivation to get out there and get active. There are other pairs that I would love to wear again! So I'm setting the clock extra early tomorrow to get up and get outside for a jog.

Number 3. Two weeks tomorrow we'll be on the road for Alabama for vacation! I can't believe its already here. I can't believe that its going to be a year since we got married. It seems like the time has fly right by. I'm really looking forward to some time off. Since I started at the hospital I haven't really taken any time off other than one long weekend. I haven't called in sick or played hooky. I cause that is a sure sign that I truly love my job. I want to be there. I want to be there early.... I will work late if I need to. I love everything about it! I love the people I work with they are the best two women! I love them! I love the members. I love the office feeling. I couldn't ask for anything better! I love it. So as much as I'm looking forward to spending 12 days away on vacation--I'll miss the girls too. I'm trying to think of something cool to bring them home from Mexico or the journey along the way. hmmm.....

Well that really sums up my thoughts for tonight. I'll continue to catch up tomorrow.....

Ebay....

I'm in love with selling stuff on eBay. I have sold left over items from our wedding, jeans and sweaters, boots, and various scrap booking items. I love everything about it! I love watching my bids go up, up and up. I just sold two American girl dolls that have sat in a closet since I was little for $80.99 , I think its AWESOME! I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with the money that I'm making of selling some stuff I have stored away in this closet. I'm thinking maybe a new purse or various items that I've been thinking about getting like.... a new pair of ballet flats or a new fossil wallet or a camo messenger or maybe I'll be really crazy and buy myself a new pair of designer jeans for $200. HAHA. I couldn't do that, besides they wouldn't fit my big butt!

I got a fever....

Everyone warned me about the day that I would get hit with the fever.... the baby fever! I just laughed it off. I didn't take them seriously. Well, I've been struck in the head by something unknown. Every where I go there is always a baby sleeping in a stroller or an infant learning how to walk or nuclear family on the side walk. For those of you who don't use nuclear, it would be the so called "perfect family"---Perfect parents, perfect kids, perfect house with a picket fence. I have friends having babies, had babies, or like me struck in the head with the fever. I know its wrong to start preparing now for what you don't know if it will or will not happen in the future. But I see parents raising children ---its expensive... I just don't think you can be prepared enough so while baby shopping for my friend Linda's baby... I started picking up the basics for the non existent child in my life. I know, I know fucked up! Maybe tomorrow will be better.... maybe I will get the cooking fever at least Doc would be happy... he could get a day off from cooking the meals in the house :)

Doc's great news.

As I exited work last evening my cell phone started beeping that I had a message waiting for me to listen to. I dialed in to hear my messages only to hear that it was for Doc--it was the police Sargent to the department that he just applied for saying that he got the job. I continued to walk down campus his building to ride home with him. Once we got into the elevator I told him that I had great news for him. He asked what I had that what so wonderful... I was so happy to be the one to tell him that he got the job. So he went and met with his new department tonight and came home with his schedule and gear. No, he didn't quit the managers job at the hospital. He just really missed the police work... so this is just a part time gig for him to get back out doing something that he loves. I'm so happy for him...

a days work

Today was payday at work which meant everyone came in to get their checks cashed, open an account or take a loan out for their upcoming vacation. People were so impatient and nasty because of the days weather. Rain. This girl came in with her boyfriend to take out their paychecks to pay for the next two weeks worth of bills. They always end up in a deep conversation about who has what bill to pay. wasting my time. wasting the time of the person in the line behind them. I asked them if they had everything together so we could move on with their transaction when she decided to SHH me. Shh me. Shh me. I couldn't believe it. My smile disappeared off my face and my mood went from helpful to get the fuck out of my office. I have been home for three hours now and I still can't believe that I got shhed. damnit. I will end this night with shear genius on bravo.

Life is Fragile

I received a message on my cell phone when I arrived home from work, that a girl that I went to high school with passed away. Called my "so called friend" back because she sounded upset to find out what happened. She told me that Maria Michaud had passed away and that they thought it was a blood clot. She leaves behind a beautiful little girl Natalie who will turn one in just 12 short days. She won't be their to see her enjoy her cake. Let alone her husband Dan who she will never get to celebrate a ten year wedding anniversary with. Maria never made it home from work yesterday. .... sad.....

My heart goes out to the Demers/Michaud family tonight. I can't begin to imagine what is going on in their minds or the sadnesss that fills their hearts. No time is a good time to see someone you love leave this life...

Life is fragile and its sad that so many of us take it for granted and think that it will never be us ...it will never be the one that we love with all our hearts.... I just hope that they can find the comfort and strength to get through the days ahead of them....
