4 LETTER WORD

WORK.

This four letter word has taken over my life. TAKEN. Okay, perhaps willingly. Taken just the same. Since last Monday I have worked seven straight days. 73 1/2 hours. 40 hours for my credit union job. The other 33 1/2 hours for the hospital in/out registration patient area.

The willingness of giving my time to both of these places is so nice. Not many people can actually say they love their job(s). I CAN. I honestly love them. I love the people that I work with minus 1 one. That particular co-irker could be devoted to an entire entry. There is something about the both jobs that keeps me getting up and going to these places each day. The CU I love the members--they are absolutely fantastic. The patients at the hospital are wonderful. My heart aches for most of the people I see but helping them is what makes me happy.

SLEEP.

Or the lack of is the most frustrating of all. I get home and it seems like it is time to get up and go again. I fell asleep on the couch this afternoon while eating my lunch. Doc told me that I was so tired that I was snoring. The sad part I had to get up to shower to go back into work. ha!

MISS.

There are some things that I miss terribly when I work all kinds of hours. I miss spending time with Doc and Wallace is limited but greatly adored. I miss dinner time. I miss sleeping in and cuddling my boys. I miss bath time at night. And I miss doing what I want.

WHY?

Why am I working all the CRAZY hours? Well, we are saving up for the downpayment on our condo, paying off my car and considering purchasing new furniture. It all takes money. Plus, I took the job at the hospital for the experience and placement on my resume. My husband is a nurse at an administrative level. We could move any where for him to get a "better" job. Which is great for him--he deserves it. I on the other hand need the experience of the hospital life so I too can get a J-O-B.

Oh well---It's one of those things that is not going going to go away for a very long time. I will need to WORK to survive. And these days it is all about survival.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!

There is so much going through my head right now about the nonreligious meaning of Easter. The more I think about the more annoyed I get about it.

Could it be that I'm bitter?

I can't help but think of the reference of "bunnies" and "eggs". Let's face it I've been working 70 hours a week and the last thing that is happening as of now is Doc and I screwing like bunnies. Or that face that I have a cyst on my right ovary and currently I'm not ovulating. I'm back on my nuvaring for a couple of reasons. The hope to get rid of the cyst that is currently residing on the premises of my open hotel. And there is that underlying factor that Doc is currently going to grad school. Oh and the fact that we still have not purchased our condo or purchased our Ikea home.

I'm not bitter, I'm just annoyed.

Doc and I didn't do anything for Easter. He bought me new Dansko clogs and I got him a new pair of Dr. Martens. Poor Walls just got his bed washed. We didn't attend Easter dinner with family, we didn't cook a fancy meal and we didn't go to a church service.

The only thing I can say is I enjoyed my weekend with my husband and our handsome baby boy Walls!

Wordless Wednesday

My weekend on the island.

Shampoo Heaven.

I went last week Tuesday and got my beyond desperate hair highlighted, cut and of course styled. Do you think I remembered to take a picture after departing the salon. Nope.

Well life has been more than busy here.

While at the salon I had the best shampooing experience ever. She used Pureology Nanoworks on my hair and lets just say its worth all $150 of it. I ran home to tell Doc about how wonderful it made my hair shine, bounce and well gave it life again. Okay maybe it was that my hair hasn't been touched by a professional since last August. But I begged Doc to find me the shampoo. Yesterday he ordered me the shampoo and conditioner. Bless him! ha! $150 in shampoo for $46.01 on ebay. I love how he loves finding a bargain. That is a savings of $103.99 AMAZING! I can't wait to get it in the mail sometime next week.

Of course I'll post before and after pictures and show you the difference. My plan is to catch up on my blog. It's been far to long!

Saturday.Sunday.Monday.

SATURDAY: I got screwed and ended up having to go into work at the hospital for 6 hours. Yup, I possibly have mono but they made me work. How much sense does that make? The only good think was Doc was working as the Hospital Supervisor so he was my "boss" all day. Ha! When he came on rounds he brought me a ginger ale. It was much needed for my very upset stomach. I got home around 2 and went to sleep until until about 5:30. Once awake again I was ready to get out of the house---I've been stuck in since the saturday before other than going to my two doctors visits and the 51/2 hours that I tried to put into work on Thursday. What a waste! It was awful.

This is how I've been living for the last 10 days. Ginger ale (Dr.P said to drink LOTS of clear fluids), 2 antibiotics for my mono like symptoms, Anti-inflammatory medicine, eye drops for my viral pink eye, Cough drops for my severe sour throat and of course Junior mints because I love mint (it settles my tummy) Ha! Mint---I really needed my chocolate fix.

Doc was so good to me. He took me out in public. We went for a "quick" dinner. I was honestly thinking McDonald's or Burger King. He suggested Pizza Hut and I had a coupon so I agreed. It took a little longer than forever to get our food. My first bite into my pizza was a bite of dough. yuck. I'm glad I only paid $12.99 for the large specialty topping pizza. Thank heavens for that coupon--My waitress was saved from me complaining. After dinner we went to Wal-Mart to pick up a scale for the bathroom. I was gained 8lbs of fluid in 4 days. Which was VERY ALARMING to me. I insisted that we get a scale so I can keep track of any gains or losses of water weight since I'm still not feeling the greatest.

Of course I found this great deal while there that I couldn't pass up. A red full size futon cover for just $21. I couldn't find one for under $75 on ebay. Not the greatest quality but just fine for Dog hair, dirty paws and other random futon mishaps. For your entertainment.... I'm sporting my blue scrubs. Can you see the darker blue area? That would be water that soaked my leg. Wallace took a shower with his daddy tonight and I got the pleasure of drying him off. So much for a towel! Well worth putting on a different pair of Pants because he smells great!

SUNDAY: Doc worked at the Hospital from 7-3pm as Supervisor. When he came home he had a gift in hand. I love surprises! Inside was the following:
1. A beautiful Moss Agate and sterling silver bracelet.
2. A glass Bunny.

I can't wait to wear it tomorrow!

A bunny. First you should know that Doc calls me Monkey. So he told me that he took all the little critters out of the basket and searched for a monkey. The closest thing to it was the bunny. So he started calling me Bunky instead. ha!

MONDAY: I got home from work to a huge pile of bills. Never a great thing! I really hate paying bills especially my own. I'm great when it comes to do it for someone at my job. I guess that's because I get paid to do it. But I put mine off until the very last minute which DOES NOT always work to my adventage! Needless to say Doc and I started our evening with a fight over a stupid cell phone bill. He thought I paid it. I thought he took and paid it. Needless to say--it didn't get paid until tonight. We have a few things together and then it seems like everything else is his and hers with our money.

But I also got 2 packages. I got my new Burton snowboard bag. I will post a picture at some point. I'm in love. I also got this beautiful ring which is an Etsy.com purchase. It's a Circle of Life ring. I got it in sterling silver. It is great quality for the money. Rapunzelsgold is has great service. I purchased it last Thursday and I got it today. Now that is what I call awesome! I fell in love with this ring for a few reasons.

One I love the whole theme of it: Circle of Life.... it reference birth, death and being reborn. Rapunzels collection represents enduring strength; honoring the diversity and continuity of each individual journey. I purchased this as a rememberence of Doc's father Zoltan and the short life our Baby E.

Let's Pray....

Please pray for this amazing family. Pray that Jonah will continue to resist infection and that he will begin to heal. Pray that his throat is not damaged in any way and that he is just having a rough couple of days learning how to suck on his bottle. And Pray that Patrice and Matt have better days and nights coming and that they will begin to hear words of healing and comfort for their sweet baby Jonah.
